About

The Artist: Jim Roszel
Jim has been studying painting and fishing from a very young age. He says about his art: "I have always loved the colors and forms of fish and fishing things. When I look at my painting of the striped bass that I caught from Pip's Rip on the Cape Cod Canal, it evokes all of the exciting memories from that moment in time. I relive the excitement of the take, the sight of the great fish in the current, the smell of the ocean, the light coming up on the scene, and the lookers-on as I lifted the fish from the water. It is also amazing to see the fish created life-size, it makes quite an impact" JIM

Commissions
It is simple to have something painted by Jim. Just give him a call - 877-422-2244.
See the "commissions" page to see what kinds of reference materials Jim needs to work from.

The Oils
The oil paintings are created on oil primed linen. The canvases are attached to heavy duty stretchers.

The Watercolors
The watercolor paintings are done on watercolor paper with Schmenke watercolors. The images ordered will differ slightly from the ones online because each painting is created to order.

The Frames
The watercolors are framed with hinged archival museum rag mats and solid wood mouldings. Scratch resistant UV filtered plexi protects the front of the framed watercolors.

Proper Care
Paintings should never be placed in areas that have sudden fluctuations in temperature or humidity. For example: keep them out of direct sunlight, away from heat sources and out of bathrooms. With proper care your artwork can be passed on to future generations in good condition.

Please contact Jim, (781-422-2244), if you have any questions or concerns. Jim is a professional Art Conservator.
